The dark truth behind Slumdog Millionaire

I was equally overwhelmed as anyone, when Slumdog Millionaire won a bunch of awards at the Oscars this year. That is when I decided to watch the movie and grabbed tickets for the next day. But what I saw in the theatre was a sad story full of negativity about what happens in the slums of Mumbai. I am really working hard at understanding what the Oscars panel saw in the movie! Remove the negative events shown as happenings in the slums of Mumbai and the movie is nothing but a pale love story that deserves nothing but a DVD release.

There are many movies that I would really like "talented directors" like Danny Boyle to take a look at: Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par to name a couple.

And it is really strange to see the sudden publicity that Dev Patel and Frieda are getting! On magazine covers just after one movie?

The slum"dog" getting some protests in India I feel is only anger misdirected. The real anger that enrages Indians really is about the negative events that are shown in the movie!

Personally I was so disgusted watching this movie that I had to walk out of the theatre in the middle of the movie.
